Car Bluetooth Module Installation Guide
Before installation, please read this manual carefully.
1. Installation Preparation
1.1 This product is designed for vehicles with a 12V or 5V DC negative ground system. Do not use it on other voltage systems.
1.2 This product only fits vehicles with OEM or aftermarket car stereos that have a CD changer port. Different vehicle brands or stereo models may require specific Bluetooth adapter solutions.
1.3 Ensure the car stereo is powered off before installation to avoid damage. Installation is recommended at a professional car audio shop or authorized dealer.
1.4 In most cases, the car stereo must be removed to access the CD changer port and connect the Bluetooth module. In some vehicles, the Bluetooth module can be installed in the glove box or trunk where an external CD changer port is available.
1.5 Carefully check the car stereo wiring diagram (usually located on the top or back of the stereo). Identify the following ports: CD changer port, B+/Ub+/ACC power port (may also be labeled BAT, Bup+, B-U, MEM +12, KL.30), and GND (ground) port.
2. Installation Steps
2.1 Turn off the car engine and remove the key from the ignition. If the stereo requires a security code, ensure you have it before disconnecting the stereo.
2.2 Remove the stereo from the dashboard to access the rear side and locate the CD changer port. For details, refer to the vehicle manual or stereo manual, or ask a professional for assistance.
2.3 Connect the wire harness to the Bluetooth module first, then attach the harness connector to the stereo’s CD changer port. Ensure a secure connection.
2.4 For some models, connect the red wire to the B+/Ub+/ACC port or other correct 5V/12V power source, and connect the black wire to the stereo’s GND port.
2.5 Turn on the vehicle and the car stereo. Press the CD/Disc/Mode/CDC/Source/AUX button once or twice to switch to music play mode.
2.6 Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone and search for the device named “BTxxxx.” After pairing successfully, the phone can stream music via the Bluetooth adapter.
2.7 After confirming proper functionality, reassemble the stereo. Place the wire harness and module in a suitable location (glove box, storage compartment, etc.) and secure them. Reinstall the stereo in its original position. Installation is complete.
3. Important Installation Notes
3.1 On vehicles with an external CD changer occupying the original port, a Parallel Harness may be required to retain CD changer functionality (model-specific). Follow the provided wiring diagram.
3.2 For Audi stereos with factory mini ISO 8-pin connectors (CDC connector is 20-pin), installation may require cutting the 8-pin portion or using a special 20-pin adapter.
3.3 Some Clarion-protocol radios (e.g., certain Subaru or Suzuki models) require disconnecting the car’s power before installation. Ensure the connector is inserted in the correct direction to prevent short circuits.
3.4 For CAN-Bus stereos (e.g., Peugeot/Citroen, Renault, newer Ford and Mazda, Opel), power must be disconnected before installation. Otherwise, the Bluetooth module may not function correctly, or the stereo could be damaged. On Peugeot/Citroen vehicles without a pre-installed CD changer, a professional tool may be required to enable the CD changer function. Consult a dealer for activation.
3.5 For BMW stereos with a CD changer, the CD changer must be fully disconnected before installation (both 3-pin and 6-pin connectors, usually in the trunk). If the stereo has a DSP system, a dedicated DSP kit, and a specific Bluetooth adapter may be required.
